Can't Spin Tires Doing a Powerbrake!?!?

Figured I would give it a try for the first time the other day and couldn't get the tires to break loose. I hit 28lbs of boost and still nothing. Oh, and this is with the Smarty (mild TM) on level 5!

Is it because of the TM or is my TC just shot already? I did lift the throttle after about 1-2 seconds of sitting at 28psi so maybe I just didn't give it enough time to break them loose?

Probably need to just QUICKLY let off the brake (just not all the way) and they will go and then hold the brake again. Easy to do but hard to explain

^^^^ What he said. Let it roll a little, then get back on the brakes. A little water or some sand will help...

Mine is slipping so bad that today going on a little hill on a gravel road. I stoped and put my foot on the brake like you would at a red light or maybe a little firmer and gave it full throttle and nothing. It just set there then lifted the brake and it want even spin the tires on a gravel road. Do you think I got a problem?????

I'm new to the Cummings but my new one will spin the tires on dry pavement without power braking it. It is cool to be in something that reminds me of the old muscle car days. BTW, It's still stock.

Mine is stock to and has 7 k miles. I put 1k on her before I towed anything and the first time I did it left me setting in the middle of the road and wouldnt move. It changes gears around her like 4 cylinder auto escort.

my 04 would burn them off with a power brake
go down a few pages on here:
http://04ctd.zippyvideos.com/

it would not spin off the line, it had 4:10

my 3:73 06 won't do it,
tried it in front of Sagebrush after it took hour and half and 3 visits to Mgr to get our food.

put the exhaust right at the front door, spooled it up,
and never got it to spin. eased the brakes a few times, just crawled forward.

12k miles on mine. normal otherwise

Thanks for the input everyone.

It sounds like some do and some don't. That seems weird.

I will give it another try but how bad is it on the tranny to try this?

My 2006 will powerbrake like crazy, at least one wheel will. (open differential) Unfortuneatly, its usually the side with the nice stainless steel tip that all the rubber flings onto and then melts to. But my favorite is the 15 MPH punch with the tranny in TOW/HAUL and the dual black stripes it leaves behind. The local kids in their Ricers cannot believe it! Thousands of dollars worth of mods in their Hondas just to get left in the dust by a Cummins w/ a $325 Downloader! Makes me smile to drive my truck. Seriously, I get excited everytime I drive it anywhere. I have perma-grin!
