Canada - Extended warranty through Chrysler a joke

<begin rant now>

So I'm under my truck the other day trying to find why my brake lights decided to quit working simultaneously. While I was under the truck, I see a tranny cooler line has started leaking.
I booked it into the shop and they checked it out. The service desk calls me back and says that its the upper cooler line and it will cost me almost $400 to replace it.
I said I have the best extended warranty package with a $100 deductible so I assume it covered? She says "No that part isn't covered under warranty because that is considered an external part that just goes after awhile"

W T F?!? Ummm ya...isnt that why I bought warranty? To cover parts that will fail during the period. I know that brakes, batteries, headlights and those types of things aren't covered but I have a hard time understanding why a transmission line is considered a normal wear and tear part.

<end rant...for now>

Boy that sounds like the exact same excuse we got when my then girlfriend (now wife) had her neon. The water pump started to leak (only 40,000 km on the car and 2 years old), booked it in, they said "actually it not the water pump leaking, but the 0-ring, and thats not covered under warranty". 75 cent part, $225.00 labour. After 3 motors (collapsed pistons), 4 sets of struts, 2 transmissions, 2 wiper motors, 3 sets of seat belts, 3 sets of rotors, (and many other things I've since forgot to remember,) I'll never own a Chrysler car ever again (I have told chrysler Canada that as well and their reply was "oh, okay". A Cummins truck? You bet, but never a chrysler product.

There's a reason the warranty was cheap. In the fine print it clearly states, "Any claim you make will not be paid."

I guess you could let it all leak out, the tranny will then fail and they'd have to replace it under warranty right? Or is the tranny an "external part" too?

Not now because they know you know it has a leak so it is your responsibility as the owner not to let it damage anything by driving it low on fluid.....

The truth of the matter is...NO Warranty is worth the paper it is written on especially when it comes to cars. Every time I have taken a vehicle in for warranty work I have ended up having to fix their mistakes or they didn't do the repair at all

That would be easier to swallow if the warranty was cheap but I paid $3500 for 3yr/36000 mile warranty. Not cheap at all

To update...I went back in this afternoon and talked to the head service advisor. Told him my situation so he looked it up again on the computer and turns out it MIGHT be covered under warranty. So, he's going to let me know when he know a definite yes or no.
