Campers
Campers
Has anybody put a large short box modified camper on their short box 3500 4x4 yet?
Does the 3" smaller box make a big difference in the center of gravity or handling?

I run a Northstar camper specifically made for a short box, the front/rear CG is 3" in front of rear axle.
To answer your question, it depends on the manufacturer, some just cut the length down without re-arranging the major weight components such as refer, tanks, and bath. So the CG is still going to be behind the rear axle which is bad !
Almost all camper manufacturers have a label that tells you the dry/wet weight and how far the CG is from the front of the camper, look for it.
