A/c
No, its not just you. My 05 Sucks for A/C even here in Seattle where we don't get all that hot but a couple of days a year.
In 80* outside heat it takes forever for my AC to cool the truck off. I leave the windows cracked, let it get all the really hot air out, then switch to recirc which does help.
My passenger side is always warmer air coming from the vents. Dealer said blend doors so they are being replaced with my blown intercooler (plastic garbage) as we speak. Guess we will see if that does the trick.
Throttle fluctuations seem to make the a/c work less as well. In town driving it can be blowing cold and give it even a little fuel and it kind of cuts to warm for a few minutes then back to somewhat cold.
So yes, it sucks.

passenger side
My 03 sucks also. Passenger side is intermittent on the cold air. After I run the AC for awhile the fan seems to lose power. Even though the pitch doesn't change the air flow is less. Have to turn it off from time to time and then turn it back on.
willmc,
Your problem sounds like one I recall reading about a while ago where the system would freeze up. Shutting it off for a while and turning it back on would work.
I believe if I remember correctly they moved the fin-temp sensor to a different location to stop it from freezing up.
When it freezes up air doesn't blow thru it as well and it feels like the fan isn't working or working very poorly.

Got more info on that? I've got the same problem on my '03.
I also had a problem where the AC compressor clutch would cycle every few seconds when you were sitting still. dealership charged me $90 and told me it was working perfectly. I've just been living with it. Fast forward almost 2 years and I had an overheat. Computer threw a 0480 code (fan clutch). Replaced the fan clutch...and the AC works fine at idle now.
I had the blend door fail, which made it impossible to select anything but the dash vents (no defrost, no floor vents, etc). That was an $1800 adventure at the dealership because apparently they have to dissasemble half the truck to get the silly thing out.
Anyway...now that the AC works at idle, I only have two problems remaining with it:
1. It freezes up on long drives. Seems be particularly bad on the passenger side.
2. Temp selector **** seems to be posessed. You'll be driving along and all the sudden you're freezing your butt off. Move the **** one click clockwise, and 10 seconds later, it is too hot. The result is we're constantly adjusting it.
Other than the AC, it's been a great truck. 117K so far.
ok so at least i'm not the only one. the bad part is my drive to and from work is only about 10 miles so it never really cools off until i pull in the drive way. i wish i could leave the windows cracked during the day but you know how the houston area weather is, there could be a thunderstorm pop up at anytime and fill my truck with water.
