Burn virgin motor oil?

Auto supply houses are running specials for new motor oil at 49cents a quart. Can we burn this stuff according to cummins?

I wouldn't. Don't you have a DPF?

My bad. Why would you want to burn motor oil? Just go for some TCW-3, it's made to burn and the BTU's are almost the same as ULSD. Maybe costs 8bucks at Chinwongmart.

$2 gallon

If it won't void the warranty its just a cost issue $2 gallon Vs $4.399 a gallon.

I don't think it would hurt at lower dosages... I wouldn't burn more than a gallon per tank... just me...

Just keep the percentage at 5% & that way you if you have any warranty issues & they blame it on the motor oil you added you can state that is what cummins recommended.

I have a new 5 gallon bucket of 40W oil that i no longer need. I have been burning it in my truck for the last 6 months. I use about 1 quart to a tank full. Seems to be fine.

for sure yes, if you have a 12valve. cummins says it's ok to run used motor oil, so new oil has to be fine.
