An egg, to put between your foot and the loud pedal.

Need more info on your truck.... But here goes...

Keep speeds below 65 MPG, drop the front end/lower the truck, skinny tires at run at max pressure. If a long box, possible addition of a tonneau cover.

More expensive is a Smarty, etc, set on Fuel Economy or addition of a gear vendors overdrive. However, even with these I think the max you will gain is about 2 MPG.

If you have a 4x4, you can change hubs out to a Warn, etc that gain you maybe 1 MPG.

Good luck!

Look into the Max Mileage Module from Quadzilla. There is a looooong thread that will keep you in reading material for awhile.

I think I may have convinced myself to buy one.

I read that thread on the "Max Mileage Module from Quadzilla" and I have decided to wait and pay for the Smarty Jr. I just read better feed back on the smarty jr than the MMM from Quad.

I also want to get me a tonneau cover but haven't decided what one yet. I do know it will be a soft one and it will have to work with a headache rack when I get that installed.

I am convinced I get almost a full 1 mpg using Power Service. Of course all that will do for you is pay for the power service.

Break out the cutting torch; remove all sheet metal; cut the frame off right behind the cab; move rear axle up to previous cut point; mount gas tank on rear of cab; hope like hell it all stays together:

Swap in a VW diesel engine with mechanical injection from the mid '80s. Convert it to 2WD with a standard tranny. Install very skinny tires with highway tread. Condense it down to where you can put a Prius body on it. Lower it. Never go over 45 MPH. Try to find routes that are down hill both ways and only go when the wind is blowing in the right direction. Use the egg as I suggested earlier.

Probably only take a weekend to make those few mods. Then use all the money you're saving to pay for them.

Or, just get the egg, oh, and a Smarty. Oh, and sensible tires. IT'S A TRUCK! Use it when you need to and get an economy car for the grocery store and short commuting.
