Bully Dog & Reverse/Park recall issue

I have been using the Bully Dog programmer (tow Mode) for 3 years now and love the extra power and, what I think is better gas mileage as well.

The question I have is this, I will be briniging in my 03 for dealer service and I'm sure they will try and make me download the recall fix, something about the truck not staying in park when you select it.

Will that over ride the Bully Dog info? and if it does will re-loading the tow program wipe out the recall fix?

Thanks

Ron

Just unload the BDDL and take the truck. But i dont think that the BDDL will override that park issue. Become friends with the dealer and tell them not to put it on.

I was told the recall is loaded into the BCM, either way request to not have it installed at this time. And as stated above remove programmer before bringing in.

I refused the recall. Had to sign a waver, but no way was that "fix" going into my truck.

I agree, the easiest and safest way is not to let them download the fix.

Thanks all.

Yep , it doesn`t "fix" anything , all it does is make the horn beep when you are backing in reverse , with the door open....then it scares the bejesus out of you!

I never took mine in , and keep throwing out the reminders I get in the mail.

Mine has the recall. Even with my programmer installed it still freaking honks....My dealer said they'd take it out as the local farmers hate it. I said "I'm a farmer too". He laughed and said "sure dan" just bring it in and I'll take it out.

I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

CallmeD if your dealer can reverse this you will be the first, because from what I having been reading about this once they install in it, it can't be removed without changing a control module or two (I think the BCM). Let us know if you get it done.
