As the title states, I'm pretty sure my truck is a victim of broken flexplate. I haven't removed the trans yet to verify, but all the converter hardware is tight and the noise is defiantly in the flywheel area. My question is, what do I replace it with? With the well known durability issues with the factory part I don't want to replace it with something that will break again. What is the root cause of the failure? Lousy design? Fatigue? Bad karma? Can anyone in readerland recommend a good replacement? Anything else I should address while the trans is out?

I have an ATS laminated, I love it. Stout. You're not really going to be able to do any other tranny mods without some $$$.

 

I have a BD Flex and its been great. I've been told that its the same one that Goerends sells.
