Thank you dtr

I have been a long time member that reads a lot and post very little. I have learned from members on this form to be prepared for the unknown. Some of the members suggested to buy a spare transfer fuel pump. I had one when my truck died on the road.
I was driving North bound on US 287 in Texas pulling my 35 foot RV. The truck just died as I pulled to the shoulder of the highway. The truck would not restart. I called road service, and finally after a long, long wait was towed to the camp ground I had just left. I set up the RV so my wife could get some creature comfort. My truck was then towed to the Quanah Service Center in Quanah, TX. If you ever need a tire change or your truck fixed, this is the place to go. Brian is an experienced master diesel mechanic . He diagnosed my truck problem to be a bad diesel transfer pump. Brian was very surprised when I had one under my back seat. He also did trouble-shoot to make sure there were no loose, broken or frayed wires with his computer diagnostic program.
The work was performed in a professional, timely manner, and at a reasonable cost to me.
If you ever find yourself broken down on US Highway 287 in Texas between Wichita Falls and Childress, give Brian a call.
If you need help, give Brian a call at 940-663- 6458
THANK YOU DTR

Now add a fuel pressure gauge so you can keep an eye on it so you won't be surprised again.

^^^ Good advice, also consider a Raptor pump for a future spare, as it will be a more reliable pump and you will get a lifetime warranty. It wont be in a stock location, but is a much better setup than the current canister mounted one.

You see, there is good advice again.
I will be looking into getting a fuel pressure gauge and a better pump.
