broken cam shaft

Angry broken cam shaft

im still new to the cummins world, but has anyone ever hear of the 04.5 cam shaft breaking? i have a 2004.5 2500 cummins, its bone stock. im starting to get ****** off, its been in the shop for over a dang month now.

How the hell does a camshaft break? Only way I have seen that happen before (in Hipo gas engines) was by a conrod flying around in there.

First I have heard but not beyond possibility. Did the actual shaft break or the gear on it?

yes the actual shaft broke.

it had to of had a flaw to start with or it was bent and flexing in the bore .can you post a pic?

What kind of oil/filter were you using and have you lost any injectors filliing the crankcase with fuel?
