Give me some insight into fuel filters (i too am new to diesels). I've been told every other oil change do the fuel filter (10k miles or so). Which filter should i go with? Seems as though theres numerous filters people use.

Grit Dog mentioned steering boxes; on my leveled 2003 (recently replaced with an '06) i went through all sorts of parts to get it steering right. I put on a Thuren track bar and it really tightened it up but after awhile the mounting bolt in the end started pounding out the mounting holes. Are the bushings too hard (no give at all...)? I put in a steering box from a salvage yard that was guaranteed low mile, it wasn't enough better. I put in a rebuilt napa box but I think all they did was put seals in it and sent it out. It seemed a bit better for a couple weeks and then right back to sloppy steering; don't do it. I finally got a brand new box from Dodge and that is/was a lot better. I have a steering stabilizer bar on the shelf that was going to go on the '03 but it is now destined for the '06 to help preserve the steering box on it. If I had any common sense I would have gotten a GMC or Chevy and had better steering and probably mileage but can't seem to tear myself away from the Cummins. Good Luck.
