Book time to change the fuel filter?

The dealer got me for over $100 to change the fuel filter. Never do that again! Worst part was, I wandered back into the shop before he started on my truck. It took the mechanic more time to find a stool to get up to my engine compartment, then it did to do the 5 minute job.
Still mad at that!

I got a wild hair and decided to change mine at 6500 miles , WOW what a difference !!! Mileage went up and idles alot smoother now , fuel quality is pretty poor for us diesel owners . Have seen rumors of Fleetguard working on a better filter due to issues with injectors due to clogs and I can see why !!! Anybody with a new one experiencing mileage probs change that sucker out !! Probably won't help everyone but it sure made a big difference in mine !!! Every oil change from now on .

WoW....get a step stool...a 1 1/8 6 point socket, extension and ratchet...and change your own!
Replace the step stool with the bumper and add a 1/2" U-joint to make things easier. I even carry it in the truck.
