Cummins had a question about this in their faq, that basically said that the high flow air filters where known to allow more dirt so they recommended that customers not use them. I would personally never use a K&N or whatever in front of a turbo.

They should tear the turbo down and try to figure out if it was dirt that caused it to fail, if so then I would have to side on DC on this one (except for not putting it in writing.) Far to often people mod without thinking about the consequences.

Also, for those that think DC should just be nice and replace it anyway, remember that's a liberal way of thinking, we all subsidize the one because it's easier for the masses to pay for.

I'm not tying to bring politics into the discussion, but I wouldn't vote for DC paying for anything that was proven to fail due to a mod knowing the cost of my next truck will be higher. Why do you think insurance is so high? It's because the companies are greedy, and because people make claims over every stupid little thing.

I believe the full intention of the service department is to provide service & if you screw it up you pay. If it fails due to manufacture flaw they pay, just some don't want to admit manufactured flaw. Any item mass produced will have a chance to have a problem..
SCHU No politicts taken, I still wish I could access the whole thread
