Blown AC High Pressure Line
Replaced the water pump in my 04.5 2500 today. Once I got everything back together and refilled the fluid I cranked her to let her warm up. I switched on the defrost and turned heat to high. While she was sitting there running....and me standing next to it.....POW!!! Blew a hole in the rubber portion of the line coming off of the top left of the AC condenser. Now, I'm guessing it's just a coincidence but I have to ask, WHY? Is this normal at 250,000 miles or so? I did double check to make sure the belt is on correctly.
Second question, can I just unplug the compressor and run it till I can get it fixed?
When it rains it pours!!
