Block heater working?

I started to plug my truck in tonight and was wondering if there is some dummy light or something for me to know the heater is working right.

I usually test block heaters with an ohmmeter, at the end of the cord. Our trucks will usually show about 19 ohms. Also, if you are in a quiet area, after you plug in the heater, you should hear a faint sputtering sound from the block, like a tea kettle heating up.

Same here. Just a light sizzling sound several seconds after plugging in.

after the truck being plugged in overnight, just feel the block where the heater is. if its warm/hot it works. if its cold, it doesnt. When i have mine plugged in, my grid heater light will go out pretty fast, if it isnt plugged in, it will stay on for about 10 secs.
