block heater cable

Hi Guys, Before i order it, is this the cable I need for my 04 block heater? I found the threaded plug on the block, and this cable looks like the one, but it says "grid heater cable". Just want to make sure. Thanks
Steve

That is a pretty standard cord, check a big truck shop or Cummins dealer near you.
They should have it in stock and is generally about $15

Where is the plug on the block? And what do you do with the cord when you drive off, unplug it from the truck or house? (Hope I don't forget to unplug it!!)

That's confusing for them to call that the "grid heater cable"

Why don't they just call it the block heater cable?

The plug is on the passenger side, easiest to see when looking up from just below the oil filter iirc. The cord gets fed along the frame and up to the grill.

I run an orange extension cord to it and loop the extension cord around the drivers side mirror specifically to remind myself to unplug.
