block heater amperage

block heater amperage

i know the block heater is 750 watts-but does anybody know the amperage draw?(electrical is not my forte) thanks

Should be close. current = power(750) / volts (110)

My calculation comes to 6.25 amps. The National Electrical code uses 120v for calculating.

the answer to your quest is watts/volts so 750w / 120v=6.25amps
