block heater

I have a brother with a 2003 CTD and he plugged in last night, down to about zero in Detroit last night, and this morning he noticed about a soft ball sized spot of oil on his driveway, just heat of block and not oil pan bolts and oil pan,he said all oil pan bolts had oil seepage, common block expansion?
Thanks

more than likely the oil came from the breather tube.

Check the oil level. May be overfilled.

Am I reading this right? Plug you block in and it leaks oil?

Not likely. Block heater is associated with the cooling system. Short of some catastrophic internal failure the cooling system is isolated from the lubrication system.
