BioDiesel?
I have an 07 5.9 g56 and I had 2 codes pop up yesterday on the way to work... It was fairly cold outside (30's and 20's overnight) and the truck had been parked outside all night. The codes were p0335 and p0336 which are crank sensor related. I don't know if it had anything to do with it but it was just funny that yesterday was the first really cold morning, 1st tank of b20, and no problems like this before... I cleared the codes and will see if I have any more problems
I've been running Blue Sun B20 for about 2 years. No problems yet. I don't use it in cold weather though due to increased chances of gelling. Definitely get ASTM rated bio and you'll be fine.
I've talked to many who have used it with out any problems. But if you take your truck in for any fuel related warranty work don't have more then B5 in your tank as that is all Dodge approves of being used in your truck. FYI, Cummins only approves the use of B20 for Government, Military and fleet use.
Here is what Cummins has to say about Bio from there latest service bulletin at this URL: http://www.maitlandelectric.com/truck/fuel.html
For Cummins® engines in Chrysler Dodge Ram™ trucks, biodiesel fuel can be blended with an acceptable diesel fuel up to a 20 percent volume concentration (B20) for municipal, government, and commercial fleets only. This applies to selected model year vehicles. Please consult Chrysler for specific requirements and approved vehicle models.
For North American markets, Cummins Inc. requires that the biodiesel fuel blend be purchased from a BQ-9000 Certified Marketer. The B100 biodiesel fuel used in the blend must be sourced from a BQ-9000 Accredited Producer.

DBLR,
WOW, that document scared me!!!!
I am even afraid to purchase Regular Diesel Now after reading all of the Diesel Fuel Parameters.
You have to think that Diesel Quality from one company to another varies?
No B20 for me.
Thanks,

I started running some B20 by Regal fuels, supposedly some of the best quality out there. Ran great at first, with just slight power loss noticed; however, it runs a little cooler, so you can just turn up the power slightly to compensate. Haze/smoke is more gray than black, and fuel mileage seemed down by about 0.75 mpg.
I ran this for probably 5 tanks, and started getting a bad miss at idle...very random, but consistant. It got so bad that someone standing about 50 ft away from my truck at idle asked what kind of subwoofer I had (the miss is kindof loud with a straight piped exhaust, and somewhat resembled a "poomp-pa-poomp" sound of big bass.
I filled up with regular #2 with a heavy dose of Schaeffer's diesel treat, and after a few tanks, it seems to have almost gone away.
That's my story...
