I ran into the same question about where the part numbers came from as I have been waiting, for a year, for Bilstein to come out with them. Yes, they are under the "Lifted Suspension" section of the parts catalog...

I called Bilstein East Coast about two weeks ago ( the post is on this website somewhere) to verify the part numbers too.....

Once again these numbers are for the stock 03-04 2500 4x4 with Cummins Diesel, with or without a 2" frt end leveling kit!

Frt BE5-6681-H5 and Rear BE5-6647-H5

superlift has bilstein brand shocks for 2, 4, and 6 in lifts on 03/04 dodge 2500s. I am not sure which series of bilstein they use though.

After hanging out here for a while (feeling things out) I wanted to let you all know that we just signed up to advertise here. Along that line, and this thread, we do carry Bilstein shocks (including the shocks that Bilstein now *officially* lists for the 4x4 2500's). We sell those for $74.00 each (which over a set of 4 is $4 less than you'll generally find them).

Anyway, I just wanted to inform you that we are here and can help you on those, and any number of other parts for the trucks as well. Aside from the Bilstein's, we also have about 500 other product lines all told (not all for the Dodge, but a of them). More specific to the trucks we have AFE, BullyDog, BD, Edge, Airaid, Banks, Volant.... things like that for performance. We carry accessories like side steps, nerf bars, tonneau covers, mudflaps. Basically about anything you could be wanting, including stocking Redline Oils (MTL, MT90, Diesel Oil, C+ ATF, 75/90 and 75/90NS, Diesel additives and so on. We've been around since 1969 (not me personally, I'm not that old). I own a Cummins, and I'm also a 2 time Sports Car Club of America Solo2 National Champion as well. We also have a fully functioning garage too.

Glad to hear you are an advertiser here now. You were very helpful about answering some questions for me about suspension for my WS6 when I asked some questions on LS1.com. I still haven't done any suspension work on it, but when I do, I know who I will be calling.

I highly recommend Strano to everyone out there, Sam knows his stuff. You can dig through the archieves at LS1.com and see for yourself.

And FYI, here's a snippet I posted a while back when the topic was reposted a while back.

I'm in PA, about 80 NE of Pittsburgh and 80 west of State College (in the middle of nowhere).

Our site doesn't yet reflect the Diesel (or most truck) items at all. Hopefully we can get it updated soon, but it's tough when there are only 3 folks answering 6 incoming phone lines and e-mails too.

BullyDog monitor for a Pup: $345. Haven't seen much pricing on it, I think that should be quite competitive. If not, let me know and I'll go back to my supplier and see if we can do something to help.

It's a small world. Guess we both like power enough to have cars with LS1's and Cummins Trucks.

Anyway, thanks for the props, certainly unexpected but quite pleasing to read!

Hm,

Jackit.com has them for 71.99 ea plus shipping and handling
Shox.com has them for 69.95 ea plus shipping and handling
eshocks.com has them for 74.95 with free shipping
Performance Products 79.97ea plus shipping and handling

S&H generally is around 25.00 for four.

$25 for shipping for 4 shocks is high. We do have to charge S&H (just too expensive now not to when you have to send $300 of product and insure it too). However, we do not charge a handling fee, and the shipping is what it is.

I think you'll find that I'm competitive to the door. Might not be the cheapest. On the other hand, it's also less likely you can talk to an owner there, and even less likely they can relate to your needs. I am the owner (one of them, my parents being the others), and do have a truck.

And of course, no sales tax outside of PA..... And for those in PA, we try and discount things to help with that too. Tough, not always do-able, but we try.

A couple other posts elsewhere on TDR indicate the Bilsteins currently advertised for the HD Dodge 2500 weren't designed for our heavy trucks (the same shock is listed for the 1500)

Supposedly a heavy duty version is coming out early 2005. Can anyone substantiate any of this information?

Thanks,

Dan

No listing, not even in the newest application guide. Given the 4x4's were found to be able to use the older truck's shocks, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find the 94-02 2WD shocks will be suitable for the 03+ 2WD's.

At this point, it looks like a specific fitment is not in the works, and was told as much by Bilstein (but we know we can't always count on that either.... sadly).

Dan,

Up until about 3 days I ago, I was under the same impression (that a new shock was coming). Since, we've found that Bilstein has updated the catalog to include the 03+ 4x4's using a 5100 series shock. That leads me to believe that no, another shock is not in the pipeline. Something else also makes me believe that as well. The fact that in the cases of all the older trucks 02 and earlier, even back to the 70's, the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks almost always use the same part number shocks as the 1/2 ton trucks. With that history, I'm sure the number Bilstein shows will continue to be the number used.

One thing I will say is when one part number covers a lot of different trucks, it is by necessity valved for the truck with the most damping need. The "lesser" trucks therefore get an automatic upgrade if you will.

I've used a LOT of Bilstein's. They rarely miss a valving setup (on trucks, prefer something different on some cars). Matter of fact I've never been unhappy with Bilstein truck shocks which is more than I can say about any other companies product. They are the most **** (for lack of a better term) about it and the company that would most likely have different part numbers if needed. Perfect example, Bilstein has a lot more numbers for Chevy trucks than anyone else does because the feel they need that many valvings for different applications.

Hey Sam,
What about doing a custom valved 5100 like you do with your f-body bilsteins? Or is that not worth the trouble, when people can just go with the custom valved 7100s from KORE (T-Rex)...
