Better Mileage? TSB 18-027-03

While thumbing through the magazine Trailer Life in the doctor's office I noticed a letter from an owner of a 2003 Dodge Cummins. He had to take his truck in for repairs and while there they found a Service Bulletin TSB 18-027-03 related to 'Throttle Response'. They made a correction in computer and he now gets 21 mpg on highway and 10.5-11 while towing a 36' fifth wheel !!! Thought I'd give you folks a heads up in case it applies to yours....

Maybe downhill! I'd like to see this for myself. The best I have ever got on my '05 was 24 empty on the highway. I average 15 pulling a trailer.

There needs to be a disclaimer that states:

Mileage numbers reported on the internet may not reflect actual mileage numbers.

That goes for all MPG posts.

I have come to the conclusion that if a person has to tell you how good his mpg is on these new diesel's. He for the most part is lieing. When people ask me what kind of mpg I am getting. I allway's tell them atleast 25 mpg in town. They say are you lieing to me. I say yep!. I thought I would lie to you about my mpg before you lied to me about your mpg. The truth to the matter is. It dosn't matter what mpg someone else gets. You should only be concerned what "you" get. O by the way. I love my 06 Dodge because it get's 25 mpg in town and I am sure I will see 28-30 mpg on the freeway.(if I keep it between 65-70 mph)

I average 13 towing and around town, I average 20 on the highway, if drive 60 or less. But most people don't actually drive real city mileage like I do, up to 45, maybe stop light, take of up to 45, no stop right now, wait 5 minutes for the MAX to pass then take off again and repeat.

Hmmmm, must have either been something I said, or the way I said it. Suit yourselves, guys, I was just posting a tip based on what the man wrote in the magazine. If you haven't heard about the recall or your mileage is poor this might be part of the problem, I sure don't know!? I wasn't making any claims at all myself, just passing it on......
