Better Fuel Mileage?

Ok I have a 2004.5 Dodge ram 3500 SRW 600 with 4.10's. when I first purchased the truck until a few days ago I would average about 10mpg in town driving and about 14 on the highway. Well I hit about 23xxx mile on the odometer and now I am seeing about 14 in town and between 18-20 on the highway. I was kinda pleased but concerned at the same time. Is there a possible problem with my truck or is it just breaking in and that is why I am seeing better fuel mileage?

Unless you want to confess to doing something? That sounds too good to be true. Are you sure no one pressed the reset button on the overhead just before you refilled it? Vee have vays of making you tok!

That is a huge jump in mileage! With the mixed feedback on this forum about gains vs. no gains after 10K, 20k, 30k, ............ miles I hope to see a small gain but not that much. As long as you EGT readings are good and no other issues present themselfs press on and ne happy

Just a question: Are the MPG figures you are using from the overhead or hand calc?

The reflash was on my tuck before I purchased it. I don't really press the button that often or do I pay attention to the overhead that often. It's just one day I decided to reset it after refueling and I was like but very .But before this point I have reseted it before with still about average 12-13 and now my average is about 16 on it. Or maybe my overhead has just hit the crappers but I kinda doubt it. But I have never hand calculated it before so I don't know if it has been right from the start.
