Not sure if this was answered, but I will stab at it

Say the auto/g56 measures 100 inch drive shaft, now you take the NV 5600 which is 2 inches longer(making the distance between the diff and the output of the trans shorter) the distance would be reduced to 98, I assume the 1/8 inches comes in to play due to change in angle of the drive shaft

The 2-piece was about 100 lbs. and the 1-piece is about 45-50 lbs.

It doesn't appear much lower if any. Maybe some due to the increased diameter of the shaft.

I think so. Check out DoghouseDiesel and see what they have.

Qc - Sb ?

I searched very little on some Dodge parts websites and didn't find one for Quad Cab - Shortbed models.
I did find a couple sites that would make one for us, if Dodge doesn't make a aluminum shaft for us Quadcab shortbeds.

Interesting site here I found, http://www.driveshaftspecialist.com/...e%20truck.html

I haven't talked with them, maybe someone on here has and knows a little about them?.
Interesting mod. I like the idea of reducing weight on the drive train. It makes sense. Nissan 350Z's come with a carbon fiber drive shaft, so lightweight is good.
It looks like a mod I might be able to slide a PO through for. Its not a noisy mod

Do you have a two-piece shaft on your shortbed Quadcab??? If not, you may not need one.

Right, I know I don't Need one, but I would like to Have one. An aluminum shaft would be lighter than the steel one that is on their now.

Ok. If DoghouseDiesel doesn't show one for your quadcab short bed then you may need to call him and ask him which model to buy that you can have shortened like I did.

i asked the guy from doghouse about the shaft lenght and the fact that i have a 5.5" suspension lift and he said it would fit just fine.

But i just found out that they also have spacers for the rear shaft mount for trucks with lifts.

Should i be concerned and call him about it? has anybody had any fitment issues as far as lenght of the shaft and suspension lifts?

Any torque ratings on the driveshaft?? I question how straight that shaft will stay under a extreme load.
