The beginning of death wobble?

Alright guys, I need some opinions here. I have noticed that pretty much ever since I got my new tires put on (BFG A/T KO 265s) that between around 50-70mph, I can feel a little shimmy in the front end...but once I get up to speed, it goes away. Is it the oncome of DW, or just the tires out of balance?

I am getting ready to put about seven thousand miles on the truck in the next month and would like to know where you, the experts, would start. Thanks!

It sounds like tire balancing to me. My experience of death wobble was it was all or nothing. Death wobble is generally induced by hitting a bump in the road surface. Until you hit the bump everything is fine and the truck acts normal. If you're constantly feeling a vibration at a certain speed I would have to think it’s just tire balancing.

Yes, my first experience with DW came after I was side swiped on the drivers front wheel... Got it out of the shop and driving down the road... I hit a bump and I thought the drivers wheel was about to fly off... I had to pull of the interstate to get it to stop. It felt like I didn't have a shock on the wheel. That was one of the first things that went through my mind... "Why didn't the repair shop put my shock back in?" Go out in looked and it was there... So I drove home thinking about it... and by time I got home I was convienced that they forgot to bolt the shock down on one of it's ends and that is why it happened... but that was fine too... I noticed my tire pressure was only 32psi (which is fine for a normal passenger car) I aired it up to the required 60 psi and it went away... I purposly ran over the one bump that caused it and only one other time did it do it, but not that bad... a few bounces and it stopped... I got home and my pressure was down to 52psi... I now maintain my tires at 65psi (max limit cold on my tires) and I have not had that problem......
I have also noticed when both front wheels hit a bump at the same time there is no problem with DW... But when you hit a bump off axis (i.e. one tire hits it then the other tire), or if you hit a pot hole where only one tire hits it, is when the DW arrives...
I have never ran BFG's... but I do notice many of the guys complaining of DW do run BFG's... I was running the stock Michelins at the time, now I run Toyo's... and other than the extra weight being the reason I need to get heavier duty shocks I have not experienced Death Wobble!!!
