bd lift pump adapter

Replaced the lift pump on the filter assembly on my 2004 about 5 yrs ago with a BD kit that moved the pump to the frame rail. My problem is the adapter that they give you for the filter leaks all the time. The first o ring lasted three yrs but since then they don't last longer than 6 months, if that long. They don't blow out, they just start leaking. I have tried buna, viton, but no luck. Anybody else have this problem and what did you do to fix it? What does dodge use when they move the pump to the tank? All help will be appreciated.

John

There is not much to that fitting, I'm surprised yours is leaking.

The Dodge dealer will have a similar fitting used when those trucks got converted to an in-tank lift pump or when the 2006-07 5.9's came with an in-tank lift pump.

The aftermarket offers many options also.

Here is the Glacier fitting that I've had for over 6 years with no issues:

I can't find any real reason it should leak. Waiting to double check measurements with BD, then I may end up buying one of those. Those look a little huskier than mine.

Got tired of screwing with that **** O ring and decided to just throw money at it. Got a 2005 housing with the banjo bolt inlet at the junk yard and now no more leaks! At least I gave it the old college try!
