Battery Load Tester
Battery Load Tester
Will a 100 amp load tester (Harbor Freight) be big enough to test my batteries? Or should I just take it to Autozone and trust them to do it right? I think my batteries are getting worn out.
I had 2 batterys that I was shure were good, took to Autozone to have tested while they were out of the vehicle. They said the batterys were bad. Both were holding 12.8 volts before the test and after. A hydrometer test also showed they were fully charged after the Autozone test that puts a load on the batterys.
My point is, I don't believe every thing I am told. Must see for my self. I would trust the Harber Frieght tester over someone else that might not be very well trained to do the testing.

Yes, disconnect the batterys from each other. Take the cables off one post of one battery and then you can test each battery, but I would want to disconnect the ground on both batterys to insure protection of the electrical circuits that are connected to the batterys.
