Battery Load-tester Question ??
I have an analog battery volt-meter/load-tester.
It says 100 amp load test.
It is one of those heating element gizmos.
It says to hold the button for ten seconds, then read voltage with the button pushed.
Okay, if the engine is running, and I want to see what my alternator is doing, do I also do the hold-the-button deal for this ??
Or, do I just not push the button and see what it says ??
Thanks.

Sure, it will put a 100 amp load on the system.
For checking the batteries you are using, 100 amps is pretty wimpy. A 500 amp carbon pile would give you a more realistic indication of what they will do under load.
