Maybe someone needs to start a poll on worn out ball joints. (stock vs. lifted vs oversize tires vs lifted&oversized tires)

who told you they were shot? Not that they can't go bad that early but Dealers and alignment shops love to say ball joints are out = $$. have you noticed anything like play in the steering lately? I was told mine were bad and used a dial gauge to check it myself, uppers were tight, lowers (which take most of the weight) had minor vertical and no horizontal, still within spec. Then i found that my steering gear was leaking and had play at the sector shaft, did a seal kit and added a DSS brace and now everything is tight again.

Ditto, 89,000 kms and just had uppers and lowers replaced. Extended warranty so I didn't question the dealer.

Are the ball joints covered under the 7/70 warranty?

common problem- do a search. you will find out about all the problems with premature ball joint wear on our trucks. smartest thing you can do is by pass the dealer and get after market parts -moog or spicer- which are adjustable and greaseable!!
