Someone is tying to get the best of you. I would def. call a lawyer, fill him in on your research so far and get his opinion. Don't talk to the gas station yet. I would get a copy of the work order Dodge is petitioning for signed by the service writer along with a parts list. I'm not seeing 12,000 bucks at all, unless they're giving you a whole new long block too...which I doubt.

It adds up quick when you are talking about the entire fuel system and every sub-assembly that touches it, including the labor to do it all.

I contacted a couple lawyers and was told there is nothing I can legally do unless the gas station fess up to the bad fuel. I asked why the Water in fuel light didn't come on and they told me who knows if its water in the fuel they said it could be anything for all they know.

When this type of stuff happens can you flush the entire fuel system and hopefully be good or is it to late after it get to the motor?

Yes you can try flushing the entire fuel system but as soon as you pull it from there dealership they put a notation on your vin. and can legally void your warranty at that point for pulling the vehicle from the dealership without doing the recomended fix of the issue. More then likely the cp3 was not damaged all you really need is to drop the tank clean it really good push all the fuel lines to the canister from the tank with air hose. Clean the canister and new filter then pull each individual injector line and blow out with air hose and fuel rail also. Then have them do a kill test on each individual injector to find the ones that were damaged and replace as needed would be the bare minimum I would do. Just my .02 I have dealt with this issue a few times. Have you tried talking with your insurance or the gas station either one. FYI full coverage in past experiences that came up just as this one with several people I know insurance covered the issue if the gas station wouldn't fess up to it and if they do you dont have to get the parts from the dealership you can have a shop order you new bosch injectors and cp3 for a 1/3 of the price and just have dealer install them.

Well I took it to another dealer I found ,and found A guy there that is real good friends with a real good friend of mine. So I trust them alot more and we'll see what they say.
And the fuel refinerey called and said they are going to test the fuel and if its bad they will cover the bill at the new dealership.

The new dealer said it sounds like the other dealer was just weaseling thier way out of a warrenty repair. So hopefully everything works out for the better.
Thanks for all your comments they have helped more then you know.

Whoever tests the fuel will know exactly what is in it. Lab test don't lie. If it passes a lab test, that crap is under warranty, period!!!!!!!!!

You didn't ask them about the recall that was on the 06' trucks. They put a small lenght of hose on the rollover valves to prevent it from leaking in water/trash when the tank isn't full. You have the issue, you may just not know it.

The WIF light dosen't work, the fuel filter dosen't block the imulsified water and affectively remove it. I have a Fleetguard FS1000 filter and head waiting to go on my truck when I get the time.

Well here an update. the fuel company said the fuel is good.
The new dealership said the fuel is good and the Fuel control accuator (FCA)
is bad and replaced it under warrenty.

Well then I went to pick it up and they said the tranny was acting up. So I took her for a spin and its not the tranny. As the engine gets to about 1500rpm's it loses all power and when it gets to 2000rpm's it knocks it down to 1500rpm's ? So the mechnic said it could be a leak in the turbo piping and its not geting enough boost. But I think its fuel related ie.. Injectors etc..

Has anyone had this problem?

Would an Air Dog unit have prevented this? I want to know as I am considering having one installed to prevent issues just like this.

I don't know if it would have helped FCA, but it will make your
injectors last longer.

There are no codes being thrown at the moment but hopefully the dealer will figure it out and cover it under warrenty.

Then I think I'm done with diesels they are way to expensive to fix. I think I'm going to get a new 09 1500 Ram plus with winter coming soon diesel once again is going to sky rocket in price.

I don't think diesel will rise above gas prices. Last years crazy price with diesel had more to do with the newer Ultra Low Sulfer formulation than anything else. Well... that and greed.
