I got fuel containated with gasoline & my insurance covered my repairs. My repair bill was around $6500.00 at a Cummins shop. I keep all of my fuel receipts in an envolope in my truck incase I get skunk fuel again. While my truck was getting repaired, my rental was a PT cruiser. I felt like a 2wd Dakota was a monster truck when I was driving that thing!!

I was lucky to talk my way into a commander. First they wanted me to drive a Kia Rio. I don't like driving golf carts on the highway.

I also keep my receipts and I am glad I did so the insurance company can go after Shell for this one.

So Jay, is that the Shell store on 290 not too far from the dealer.
I usually top at the Love's near there for fuel (5% bio). I go to Houston a lot.
By the way, it seems like a good dealer. How are they on their parts pricing.

Pete

Parts pricing I don't know - i have never bought anything from them like that. The Shell I got bad fuel was in downtown Dallas not near me. That is what made this even worse. I was coming back from Oklahoma the Sunday after thanksgiving pulling a 30ft gooseneck with two jeeps on it at the time.

I had to call a duramax friend to come get the trailer just north of huntsville and I limped the truck to the dealer.

Defintely made for a long drive even longer.

Any idea of why water in fuel light didn't come on? Thats what I'd be questioning the dealer about.

Seems almost none of water in fue lights work.Same thing on the Duramax sites and its the same system. That much liquid other the diesel and NO warning if I was in insurance claims I'd be furious.Lotts of posts ever time about HUGE repair bills and never a water in fuel light! Could happen to you again.
