Bad Batteries and 2013
Bad Batteries and 2013
Got the old P2509 code last weekend. I arced the passenger side battery with
the tranny dip stick by accident. That started the problem and the code next time I started the truck.
Cleared the code with the Edge Attitude, cleaned all the terminals and checked all the grounds. Started OK but slow. Did not throw any codes.
Bought a new set of Batteries to replace the 6 year old ones at the Dodge Dealer.
Could not believe they were $20.00 less per battery than anybody else within a 35 mile radius. $94.00 each. 800 CCA. 72 month warranty.
While I was at the place, I asked a couple questions about the 2013 3500 and was told it would be DEF, which I knew, with a 8 speed Asin Tranny
Are you sure? Yeap. He said, he'd have some more info in October. I wonder what the tranny ratios will be if its true. An Asin Tranny in a 3500. Price Jump.

Edit; Should have been posted in Non Drivetrain section, sorry.

I'm not in the market for a new truck payment, but the thought of an 8 speed behind the Cummins is intriguing.
My folks have a 2011 VW Touareg TDI with an 8 speed Asin transmission. It is an excellent unit in the Touareg, shifts great and the ratios are spot on. VW gained 3 mpg on their highway rated mpg by going from their old 6 speed to the 8 speed, the folk's TDI averaged 29.7 mpg (hand calc) from Tucson to Cape Cod in June.
