Axles??

How do I know if I have full or semi floating axles? I have a 2004.5 3500 4X4 auto with the 5.9. I've been told it is probably the full floating but I don't know how to tell. Is it something I can check without tearing anything down?

Also, will it make a difference doing brakes on this truck?

Thanks.

Look up AAM 11.5, full floating. All fronts are full floating technically, because the axle shafts can't support any weight.

Why are you asking this? If you know the difference between full and semi floating then you absolutely know what you have on your truck. Full floating front and rear.....
