It`s normal for this trans to shift up and down on light throttle at slow speeds. It`s the algorithms of the trans based on TPS input.
A steady foot works best. Try to drive around the speed that cause this to happen. Also, Dodge has a calibration update to help with this problem.
It change`s shift points and soften`s TPS input`s. But it`s not a cure-all.

I will try to see if my dealer can do that. I try to hold a steady throttle but the road conditions here want allow that and somtimes it drives me crazy. The tranny shifts smooth taking off and I have no problem there it only trying to drive around 40 mph. Its like driving in 4th gear in a manaul redlining most of the time with this auto.

Mine did it too. But maybe not in quite the same way. At about 80 miles (two hours after I got it) it started hunting. I took it back and they replaced the governor and transducer. The tech also discovered the transducer plug connection was damaged, as though it had been forced together incorrectly. The problem was fixed and has been good for 93,000 miles now. So the wiring connections are very important.

When you say the work fixed your problem but it came back, it sounds like they were on the right track.

when I took it in the first time and it fixed the problem for a couple of days. I told the tech about it the second time and he told me that chrysler told him the only reason the problem went away was because the TCM had to relearn everything because they had cleared its memory. They told me that if it bothered me that much to try disconnecting the power overnight and see if it went away again. I havent had time to try this yet.

Cool

It`s not shifting 1-2 / 2-1. The TCC in 2006 can be turned on in 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
What you are experiencing is the TCC locking and then unlocking due to light throttle application. The TPS will unlock it when you step into it, even if it`s only a slight tip in throttle change. The older versions only have TCC lockup in 4th.
