Auto trans fluid level question

I did a bunch of maintenance today and I checked the trans fluid level.(trans was just serviced approx 15K miles ago) The fluid level was on the LOW side of the "ok" range. I have noticed that the trans has been shifting a little differently from normal.

Since the level was at the lowest part of the "ok" range, could that have something to do with the strange shifting? I got a quart of ATF from walmart but Im going to wait till tomorrow to add some. I'm just wondering if that might be causing the strange shifting?

Make sure it's ATF+4 and yes it could make a difference. Get it good and hot then check the level. If you add any only add about cup full or less at a time.

One quart won't make a shifting difference, even 2 normally won't. Make sure you check the fluid level with the trans fully warmed up or it will show low. Not a big deal though as one can usually run 2 quarts over full with no issues.

Make sure to check the level with the truck running and the gear selector in Neutral.

Yeah make sure its in neutral. Any vehicle I ever had was always PARK. Just before I bought my truck the dealer put in a new tranny. A few days later I check the fluid and it looked down a quart. So I figured they didn't put enough in when doing the service. Went to chrysler to buy some ATF+4 and service guy came out to look at it and it was fine. I felt like an idiot after seeing that imprinted right on dipstick. Lol

Thanks for the input...yeah, I did check it in neutral and on level ground...showed right at the bottom of the "ok" range. I havent had time to add fluid today, but I'll do it tomorrow.
