When I take my truck out of park it is hard to pull the lever, not smooth like its supposed to be. Anybody else have this issue?

Do you set the parking brake before putting it in park?

The cover underneath the steer.wheel, pull it down and shift gears(with the engine off, of cource). You will see the 'white' plastic slide up and down, there are is a clip (just like on the elect. conn.) on each side (I used 2 small screwdrivers) to beable to slide it out. You can adjust how the shift lever goes in park. I played with mine and got it pretty good. I did end up breaking one of the 'clips' and it still holds.

I can take a pic. if anyone needs it. The way I found this out is after I installed my trans., it wouldn't go in park all the way and ATS told me what to do.

Mpracehemi, a pic would be good, mine is sticking sometimes, regardless of incline or parking brake set. Seems difficult to get out of park sometimes and sometimes no problems.

PM me with your email address and I'll send you a pic. that way it won't be in my pics. on this. I don't know how else to do it.

I'll also show you where to insert the small tipped screwdrivers. It is real easy to do, just mark where you start at so you have a reference point to go back to, 'cuz you might be playing with it to find where it needs to be so it doesn't stick [B]AND[B] won't pop out too easy. Remember to have your e-brake applied while shifting gears and you don't need the eng. running. I don't intend on offending you with the e-brk reminder, just covering my rear. I like to help others, just don't want someone coming after me legally ya know.

I was reading on here about that stupid reverse horn 'reminder'. I bought my truck used and it had some mickey mouse wiring done for a overhead dvd player.
I would back up to hook up to my trailer and open the door and the dang horn would start beeping/lights flashing, I thought it was some wiring gremlins rearing their ugly head, now I found out why. The point to this is if your truck doesn't have this 'safety feature', make sure if you take it to any dealer to tell them you don't or do want it, it's a safety recall.

I started a thread for the same thing just before this one. I'd like a look at those pics too if you dont mind. I'll pm you a email address. Seems like there are quite a few folks with the same issues even back to the 04's. Mine's done it for quite a while but has gotten worse lately. Thanks.

Mpracehemi, thanks for the pic. I posted it on the other thread for others to try for a fix.
