ATS transmission upgrades

I am looking into upgrading my 2004 CTD 48re tranny. I have talked to an authorized ATS dealer who will upgrade the tranny with a new torque converter, valve body, co-pilot controller and a Pacbrake exhaust brake. I have been quoted around $4700.00 installed and guaranteed. Does this sound like a good deal? If only I can convince the wife that we need this!

What kind of stuff do you do with your truck, do you tow with it, truck pull with it, etc?

Thats not a bad price, especially considering the pacbrake

I tow a 31' travel trailer that weighs about 9000lbs. I only tow maybe 2 times a month at most. But I really want the exhaust brake for the mountains. Since Dodge won't warranty a torque converter controller, I might as well go all the way!

What about the bands, is he going to upgrade them any? Sounds like a good deal to me, I was quoted less than that for a DTT tranny rebuilt, but it did not include the pacbrake.

I'm looking to do a similar transmission upgrade for my 98. DTT quoted me $4700 Canadian for a transmission that will pull around 8000lbs and take over 400hp to the rear wheels. I want to add some HP to the truck so it seems like a good deal. I'm guessing the $$ you mentioned was US so it seems like a great deal considering you get an exhaust brake.
