APPS reset

I've read about the APPS reset in other thread's. I found the link for the procedure, but it say's it's for a 02. Will this be the correct procedure for my 04.5. Thank's.

After a comment like you made about the black box, I don't want DC coming after me when it hears you over talking about changing something.....

Yup will work for ours. I haven't done it the way they have, I just unplugged the thing from my throttle box and it worked fine. Maybe 05's you can do that, worked for me.

Something wrong with your truck again??

I have tried this fix a couple of times and it didn't seem to do anything for me. I was out surfing DTT's site and noticed that Bill has a more detail resetting of the APPS.

http://www.dieseltrans.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=614

Not sure if you need to be a member to get to that site.

But it talks about testing some sensor (like the TPS) and making sure that is within specs along with the typical reset of the APPS.

I have NOT tried this yet but hope to in the future. Probably another month down the road.

I just went to do my APPS reset today by Bill's instructions. There are wonderful instructions and assume probably correct. But upon me re-reading them, they are instructions for a 2nd gen truck and not a 3rd gen as I have. So it was my mistake earlier.

Then the only reset that I know of it what was stated earlier.
