Anyone use Tow haul on 05
Anyone use Tow haul on 05
Hey All..
The other day I was in some stop and go traffic.. 0 to 35 mph and back to 0..
Getting tired of the tranny slipping and the high RPM's I put it in tow Haul and it was a bog improvement.. Crisper shifts, seemed to lock up the converter earlier and as you slowed the converter seemed to stay locked up and the engine slowed the truck...
Anyone out there use the tow haul mode regularly???
Is there any disadvantage to using it for regular driving???
Gerry

I used it for awhile with out my quad chip to see if could get better mileage. It does help by about 1.5mpg without the Quad, but with I like the power with the Quad chip & quad gets me the same mileage in the city, but Quad get me better on the hwy.
Here is no disadvantage of using t/h regular. It will keep trans temps lower & help with the longevity of the trans.

I use the tow/haul everytime! I have 40000 on the trans so far. I've had no troubles. I did change the filter and fluid at 24000 and it looked brand new. I also put a drain plug in the pan for next time.
