Another Hard start problem.

Hey guys hoping for some fast answers
I posted before my hard starting issues and I got the normal answers< about crank and fuel pump issuses... I took it in today to dynomite diesel here in monroe wa, and they said my problem is my fuel pressure regulator and my injectors, Now I can understand why they regulator might be a issue but with a trck that just has a long crank time but runs like a top when its started what proof do I have or can I get that the injectors are the issue they quoted me almost 4k to install the 40hp injectors and this sounds like rape to me..... also can i get some ideas on how hard injectors are to install myself?
and anyinfo on the regulator i'd be gratefull for aswell.
Thanks guys.

dont know anything about the regulator. but you sound just like me when my injectors were going out "how can it run PERFECTLY once its started??" was what I kept saying. BUT it was the injectors. got all six replaced, did them myself. it is tedious, but very easy to do. as far as cost, don M is who you want, F1 diesel. remember that.

I bought the flux 1's 40hp, had all my injectors serviced by don, the tips installed, and back to my door in 5 days, for $1,800. thats a steal if you ask me.

dodge wanted 4k just like you were told.

so, remember, F1 diesel, and do them yourself! good luck!

edit--
forgot the other part of your question. you can have a shop do a flow test to see how each injector is working. even if they say you only need two or three, might as well shell out the bucks and get all 6, so you know they will last.

Sounds like they are blowing smoke. Unless they give you all the results to the following tests they're just guessing on whats wrong with your truck. These are tests that I have to perform before I replace any injectors. Fuel return flow, high pressure volumn, set point pressure and actual pressure. Fuel supply volumn low pressure system. Any contamination of fuel, like water or rust in fuel filter housing. Injectors go bad for a reason most of the time it's contamination of fuel. Leaking high pressure injector tubes will act like bad injector. Try tightening all injector tubes to spec if injector return flow is excessive.
