ANOTHER fuel rail pressure sensor

well my truck ate ANOTHER fuel rail pressure sensor. has anybody else had a problem with this??? This will be my 3rd one in 6 months. Could it be my quadzilla?? it gets run on level 1 with the MPG tune 98 % of the time. once in a while i crank it up and play. Any ideas on why it does this??

Warranty replaced my sensor and bypass valve at 75K since the rail pressure would not go over 7K. I have had a Quad race on since....30K and I am at 85K now. I keep it set on level 5, just in case I need it.

Well generally speaking, Cummins is about 30-40% less than the dealer.
I have a Cummins Power Club card that gets me another 10% off.
If you want to try it, I can pm you my card # and just tell them you are picking up the part for me. I don't know if it will work, but you can try it if you like.

Not sure, but I thought I heard of an issue with certain quad plugs not having proper insulation and causing issues with water infiltration. Like I said, I can't remember exactly what it was though.

Do a search on rail, pressure, plug, water and you'll find the info on it.

It sounds to me like maybe the box does have a problem and is giving you codes but, it is pretty difficult to wreck a sensor.

I guess what I want to know is, what makes you think they are actually bad or blown up.

Also for those that have a RP gauge and said it took out the transducer it is IMPOSSIBLE. I have went over this 1000 times. The RP gauge has a set of connectors that are wires straight through with 1 wire connected to the signal wires and brought into the gauge. We DO NOT use power or ground from the sensor. Basically it is like connecting a voltmeter probe up to the signal wire. There is no possible way under any circumstance that the gauge can hurt that sensor.

Now, at one point when they were first released there were some connectors that did not have seals in one hole of one of the connectors. That coupled with power washing an engine could damage a sensor due to water getting into it??

the first time it went i took one from my buddies 04 put it in my truck and it ran FINE!. put mine in his truck and it ran the same way mine did, like **** rought idle LOUD knocking and no power. this time i havn't tried putting his sensor in my truck. And both times i completely unhooked my quadzilla from the truck to see if that was it.

and also i didn't use a powerwasher to wash my engine bay, just a gardine hose with a spray nosel

Take into consideraton where the above quote came from. It was from quad partially admitting a certain fault. Of course they are gonna make it seem like you would have to be pressure washing it. The main part to read is that there WAS a problem with the connectors that may lead to water infiltration. PERIOD. Furthermore, you may experience this more than somone who never washes their enine lke me. Ha Ha Ha never had to replace the sensor and I'm at 215,000 miles.

Had one go on mine this past summer the week before i was to go on vacation, called dealer to get one. they said it was $360 and would be on back order, so they couldnt say when it would be in. Called a cummins shop and they had one the next day, $150 and they thought that was expensive.
