Another Auto to Manual Thread
My auto 48re told me yesterday that it no longer wishes to be part of the cummins world. Second gear disappeared. Last night we pulled it out and got the thinking. Looks like it would not take much to bolt in a six speed. Clutch pedal appears to be the biggest issue. Would the computer be a problem?
You need trans, Tcase(or just input shaft for tcase), bellhousing/starter shim plate, clutch/flywheel, hydraulics(master/slave cylinders), ecm, abs ecm(vin locked to ecm), engine harness, fuse harness that goes into the cab(for the clutch switch), and then you need the brake pedal and clutch pedal and clips that hold them on. Also need driveshafts front/rear.(6" longer front, 6" shorter rear I believe, but thats on a QB/SB truck)
The ecm/harness needs to be from the same year truck. Trans crossmember is the same.
Ive researched it a little bit, but havent found all the parts I need off one truck and I dont want to go piecing it all together(cost more)
