Another APPS question

Truck runs great, knock on wood . But every once in a while as I am driving down the road I will not get any throttle response. Doesn't happen all the time but it does happen. I have tried doing the key code read but I do not get any codes. My question is could it be the APPS going bad?

I hear the FASS running and the filters are only 5 months old. So I do not think it is that.

Also it did shutoff on me once coming up to a stop sign but has not done it since.

Any info would be great.

I bought my 03 about 5 years ago with the APPS going bad. Dealer said he didnt know what was wrong with it, wholsaled it out to me. Mine had a dead spot midrange and wouldnt hold a speed with the cruisecontrol. I bought a new one for $235 on EBAY and the problem was fixed. About a year ago I started having an off idle surge when I left a light. No raise in RPM's then a surge. Transmission would sometimes not shift untill 2500 RPMs or more, all this was intermittent. I bought a new FCA (fuel control actuator) for $100 on EBAY and replaced it one afternoon and all my surging and shifting problems went away. I am going to buy another one and carry it as a backup.

Good Luck

I had the intermitant throttle responce with my 03 also. Had to stop and turn the truck off and restart and it would be good again untill later. Replaced the APPS and solved the problem.

This is old news but you might try it and see if it helps.

If you have changed batteries lately or unhooked them for any reason the computer could have lost the apps settings.

Turn the key on, Slowly push the fuel pedal to the floor and let it come back slowly to the top. Turn the key off.

That should refresh the computer.

When I did that in my 2000 3500 it would tone at the top of the pedal as did my 04 Durango. My 06 don't seem to care.
