another ac problem

My air conditioning will blow ice cold for 5 minutes or 30 minutes (just depends) and then it will just start blowing warm. Fully charged with freon. Sometimes if i stop somewhere and restart engine it will work again for a time and quit again. I have been dealing with this for almost 3 years. Any help would be great. Thanks

is your compressor cycling regularly? when it starts blowing warm, check your compressor and make sure its engaged. if its not, you probably have a faulty pressure sensor.
When it starts blowing warm, check the accumulator and evap core hose coming from the accumulator. Is that frosted over, or cold to the touch?
Check your condenser also, make sure its clear of bugs and debris. make sure there isnt a excess amount of fins bent over restricting airflow.

i was just going to start a thread about this same problem.

mine is doing the exact same thing. it will work great for 2 months then bang its blowing warm. turn truck off then back on then its working.
then today is was blowing some serious cold air on driver side and warm air on the passenger side.

then when its blowing massive cold air you have to turn on low it gets so cold and when blows warm air it sounds like its really pushing out some air but you dont feel all that pressure just warm air.

I'm not an expert HVAC guy, but it sounds like it is either overfilled or the condensor is not adequately cooling. I am relatively sure that when the fault occurs, your compressor will be stopped. This will be because of either over pressure or overheat. Check which it is. Overpressure can be caused by internal icing, external icing (water in the system) or evaporator icing (expansion valve problems) and too much freon in the system. Overtemp is usually lack of airflow through the condensor. It is also possible that the condition causing the sensor to trip is false and the sensor is faulty.
