Thumbs up Amsoil Manual Trans fluid!

Changed the fluid in the trans (NV4500- 5-spd) with Amsoil Manual Transmission and Transaxle Lube (75w-90). This stuff is good! Withing a couple minutes of driving, I could already feel a BIG diference in the shifts. Super smooth! Good stuff for those of you w/ NV4500's. Glad I didn't spend the $150 the dealer wanted for the Syntorque! Also, I put on the Fast Coolers that Geno's sells. Can't tell you yet how much they'll drop the trans temp, put they gave me a full 2 additional quarts of fluid.

I wonder if that stuff would be alright in the G56? I know I liked Amsoils Universal ATF in the DTT tranny on the old truck, but the G56 calls for the Mopar ATF+4. Hmmmmm....

I'd use the Amsoil Universal ATF for that. Universal ATF is Amsoil's ATF+4 equivalent. I have the Universal in my transfer case, and it really smoothed it up. The stuff I used is for NV4500's instead of Castrol Syntorque.

I'm using Amsoil MTF in my NV5600 and it made a noticeable difference in shifting.

MikeyB,
Didn't you try Redline MTL at one time? If you did which do you like better? Thanks, Jerry

Jerry,
Never tried Redline. I have read good results with Redline though.
I did replace the factory fill with Pennzoil Synchromesh. The Pennzoil was ok but I like the Amsoil MTF much better.
