The dimensions are about 5"x 7" of 3/8" steel painted Hammered Black. 5" horizontal x 7" vertical. Oh, no extra hose.
I don't see Amsoil saying they don't like the bypass mounted on the block, they have installation instructions detailing mounted it where you have it on their site. No matter, it works fine.

Right out of the installation manual... "(Do not mount on engine.)" But that is where the OEM filter is...

But it also says not to use hose other than Amsoil hose... and I am sure my crimped 3K psi hydraulic hoses are just fine... They also dont like the filters mounted w/in 20* of horizontal, for air bubbles (but my 4.0 toyota has the filter upside down from the factory)... Mine is at about 3-4*, so when I change it I park on my 8-10* driveway and that gets me close to 20* for filling, and after its full I am not worried about air bubbles.

And the white signs on the side of the road say "Speed Limit 55", but I don't always follow the directions.

I have teh same setup as Shagginwagon but i got my bracket from an amsoil guy. I run 15w-40 amsoil and just drew my first sample at 10k and dropped off at UPS. As everyone else said, the oil color didn't change when i went with the kit. I have an 05 2500.

it is above the exhaust manifold but gets no heat soak at all. i tested that with my infrared temp reader. as far as that contraption. its a 1 1/4 aluminum bar that i had drilled, and tapped so i could have multiple ports with plenty of oil flow. i love it because is alows the oil temp sender to be right in the oil flow not out of it. i made it because i hate brass T fittings.

FYI...http://www.a1manifolds.com/default.aspx has manifolds cheaper than they can be made, even at home!

What's with the in-line orfice and reduction of hose size? OR why do you have to reduce the inlet to the filler cap? Is it to prevent full oil flow and prevent too much oil in the upper head? Lost?

I have all the housings and filters I need just not sure about the reduction in hose size or why it's reduced. Instructions please....
