air flow practicality question

can anyone tell me if removal of silencer ring can improve boost on an 04? Like has anyone ran a test on a dyno for this? How about the removal of that cross web thing in the intake? I know about the increase in size of the exaust and such - but wonder about these items. I know about the sound issues - but wondering about the practicality of such issues. thanks for your input.

Removing the silencer ring; I don't think there would be enough measueable different to detect with known instrumentation.

Opening up the intake tubing from the air filter to the turbo is very noticable. Does help some with turbo spool and when matched with better flowing exhaust will lower EGTs.

as i understand it the ring makes no performance difference what so ever. It is strictly a device to reduce noise. It sounds better but hardly noticeable really. I hope it sounds better and spools faster when i get my AEM workhorse intake next week.

removing the silencer ring does nothing for performance other than allow the turbo to be slightly heard
Gutting the tube from the filter will open it up and sound better.
The vanes are easily cut out with a hacksaw.
