air filter meter????

When I bought my truck used I noticed the air filter meter said to replace it. So I did, with a Fram air filter. Within a week the meter was at "replace" again. So I then ordered a coulple Fleetguard air filters and changed it with the same outcome. Could my meter be bad? Or do these filters go bad within 500 miles of driving around town?

sounds like your meter is bad. I had 23K on my filter & the filter minder was only about 1/2 way down so I changed it anyways. Better safe than sorry.
It could also depend on what driving conditions you are in. I highly doubt that you could plug up the filter that fast though.

if you are using that stock air box with the edge module, you will pull more air than the factory setup can flow, hence the plugging indication. it is not plugged, just inadequate for that much airflow needs.

Mine used to do the same thing but once I switched to the new amsoil drop in filter I haven't been able to get it to move. The filter runs arounf $40 but its reusable for 100,000 miles and its not a oiled air filter. I'm not a big fan of the oiled air filters in diesel trucks.

I agree. The filter minder is indicating that the modified engine needs such a high volume of air, that even a clean filter is restricting the flow.
