Adjusting vavle springs?

I hear alot of people talking about adjusting vavle lash and I was wondering how often or when does this need to be done? I currently have 60,000 miles on my 05 and the engine seems to get louder and louder the more miles put on. The truck runs great however is this normal? Do I need to adjust them?

I think your referring to adjusting the valve lash? It should be adjust every
100K if I remember correctly, on 3rd Gen trucks.
