An adjustable ball joint? Not sure I've ever seen one of these. I've been running Precision serviceable u-joints all around my truck and have had no problems with them. Got all of 'em from NAPA but don't know the #'s right off the top of my head.

I got my ball joints from car quest and they were adjustable pita to install and get the truck good enough to drive to the alignment shop.

I've done 3 trucks now, I used the moog ball joints from an 02(2nd gen ) they are like 70$ and easier to install, the "adjustable" BJ was 180$ so far no driving issues or complaints. I was put onto it by an parts guy who claimed back in the day there were no aftermarket choices for Ball Joint for the early 3rd gens, so they started using the 2002 ball joints.

Just finished doing my friends 04, he had x4 shot BJ, one trackbar bushing wore completely out and the tie rod at the pitman arm was trashed. drives like a dream now.

I wanted and ordered offset joints before tearing into mine. But they had too much adjustment and I went with no offset after re-ordering a set off non adjustable ones.

You can also order them in various offsets to compensate, but you can't tell how much you need till it's all back together with new joints and on the alignment machine. Then it's too late. So I recorded the reading with all new joints and the next time (oh no, I hope not) I can ge the offset ones in advance.

I think the best approach is to max out the caster and live with a bit of unequal camber. Mine no longer pulls and drives at least as good as new.

DEFINATELY get the greaseable axle u-joints and the greaseable ball joints! And, of course, while you are in there, put on the free spin setup of your choice, the new '08 steering linkage and track bar bushings or replacement bar. In other words, do what Dodge should have done in the first place!

It is my understanding the offset joints may not be a durable as standard joints. So only use if you have a camber alignment wear issue that cannot be resolved by dropping toe to near zero. Only use as needed and if off by more than .5 degrees.

I had a local place put on a set of uppers and lowers (adjustable) from CARQUEST at the same time I put on 4 michelins and had alignment done. When I drove away and got going down the road I'd turn the wheel a little to the left, about a second later the truck would respond, then turn it to the right, and a second later it would respond. It was kinda like stirring a soup spoon. So I took it back and told these folks, they said it would loosen up in about 500 miles. From there I left my old duty station en route to my new duty station with 5th Wheel Camper on the back. Most terrifying experience of my life, especially when an 18 wheeler would pass. Just ordered adjustable Moogs to have put on. Hoping my perception that Moog is better quality will fix my problem. Any thoughts?

Dont get adjustables unless you absolutley need them to fix alignment problems.
