I installed it, bought the truck new.
I brought this up to the dealer over the phone and they said that its a option. I told them "No, the cord is a option, but the block heater is suppose to be put in there factory" they are still denying it. So when i go up there next week I will have to wave my tech manual in their face.

Something is not right. Get after them.

Tell them you want it bought & installed for $10.

I just did my Block heater cord last night. When i first started looking to plug in the cord i looked to low on the block and there was just the blank plug so then i looked right above that kind of under the exhaust manifold and there it was.So as said by rossn2 remove air intake hose and its right there and only takes about 10min to install.

Got a Block heater cord for Xmas last night.. I see the 3 little holders that go in the frame but where does the Wall plug end mount on the front of the truck???

Don't know if I'll use it here in california but... might as well put it on..

The male plug just hangs there. Mine is located bewteen the radiator and the headlight. I hide it in the summer.

I routed mine so that it hangs behind the bumper and i can reach threw the hole in the bumper and get it to plug it in. Then when its not in use it just disapears behind the bumper.

The block heater is the only thing that fits that hole, there is no freeze plug that size. I had a heater go bad and thats what Cummins told me, I was not going to replace it but had to.

Put the cord in today... I pulled the air tube off (got a good look at my silencer ring and left it in) and 5 minutes later I was all done.. to easy..

Plugged it in and it gets warm.. Now I just need a little snow and cold weather and I can use it )
